Block paving can transform any tired looking garden, patio, or driveway into something more beautiful. Using our ‘Two Step Attack’ we obliterate the weeds and freshen the pavers, leaving your block paved areas looking back to new and you still have plenty of time to put your feet up.
Many people think that weeds can actually grow through the paving slabs themselves, but this isn’t true (unless you’re dealing with Japanese knotweed, that is – this notorious weed can get everywhere). Instead, weeds grow up through the sand joints, and in doing so they can disturb the sand, leaving your paving slabs vulnerable to movement and tipping. Our invasive weed free technology gets rid of all the weeds and prevents them from regrowth but making the joints and substrate below uninhabitable for new weed growth.
Over time, the sand in the joints is replaced with mud, grit and pretty much anything but the sand its supposed to have to keep it sturdy. As part of our cleaning process, the mud will be removed allowing us as part of our block paving package to re-sand the entire area, this will ensure that the blocks are once again stable.
Due to the with the changeable weather conditions here in the UK and heavy rainfall, once cleaned and re-sanded, we recommend using a sealing product harden and keep the sand in place, this will also prevent the regrowth of weeds and keep the block paving looking better for longer.
After the re-sanding process, we offer a range of sealants to add a gloss finish to the blocks or a colour tint to bring them back to their original colour.
When new weeds emerge, the most cost-effective way to try and discourage the weeds from growing at all is by brushing your paving regularly, which will dislodge any new growth and help keep your paving looking clear, after 3-6 months (depending on environmental conditions) our team of weed busters can return to ensure that any growth is quickly abolished.
